Ayrton Senna da Silva was born in Sao Paulo in Brazil on 21. March 1960.  

He first drove go-cart when he was four and raced when he was thirteen. In 1977 and 1980 he was South American go-cart champion, in 1979 and 1980 world go-cart vice-champion. He began to drive Formula Ford 1600 in 1981.

The most important result of Senna’s career in this period are:

1981 – champion of British Formula Ford - Towsend-Thoresen (T.T.) championship (in Van Diemen Minister RF 81)

1982 – British and European champion of Formula Ford 2000 (in Van Diemen Nieson RF 82)

1983 – champion of British Formula 3 (in Ralt Toyota Novamotor RT3 E)

In Formula 1 he debuted at Brazilian Grand Prix in 1984 in Toleman Hart. He won three championships (in 1988, 1990 and 1991), he raced in 161 races, he achieved 19 best laps, 65 pole positions and 41 victories in his career.
